Policy into practice: a case study in social housing

In 2014, as  the Queensland Mental Health Commissioner I took a leap of faith and commenced a process that led changes to legislation, policy and practice to make harder to evict vulnerable people from their public housing for so-called anti-social behaviour.

This paper Policy into practice is about the  thinking behind the scenes and the actions and tactics we took to see this process through from a good idea, to a well crafted document to better lives.

Because a policy that is not implemented is not a result.

The paper was delivered at a National Policy Officers conference conducted by Liquid Learning in Canberra on 27 June 2018.  Thanks to the participants for their interest.
